Standing With Those Who Serve: Why Giving Back Matters at Overwatch Greeting Card Company

At Overwatch Greeting Card Company, our mission goes far beyond paper and ink. Every card we create carries a message, not just from sender to recipient, but from all of us to the men and women who serve and protect. That’s why a portion of every purchase helps support military and first responder non-profits dedicated to healing, hope, and human connection.

Supporting the Fight Against Veteran and First ResponderSuicide

We’re proud to announce our first official non-profit partner:the Let’s Walk It Out Foundation (Let’s Walk It Out – 222Mile RuckMarch Inc.), a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to preventing veteran andfirst responder suicide.

Their mission is simple, but their impact is powerful: “We stand together to break the silence and normalize the conversation surrounding mental illness and suicide through collaboration, awareness, and intervention.”

Through their grueling 222-mile ruck march and ongoing public health initiatives, Let’s Walk It Out reminds participants and communities alike of the resilience within each of us, to push through pain, to rise again, and to find strength in the march forward. Their commitment to awareness, intervention, and community healing perfectly aligns with our own belief thatconnection saves lives.

Art With Purpose

Our support doesn’t end with donations. We believe art has the power to tell stories, heal hearts, and honor heroes. That’s why Overwatch has donated original paintings to help raise funds for causes that matter, including The BackStoppers of Warren County and the Tribute to Veterans Memorial.

The BackStoppers of Warren County

The BackStoppers organization provides financial assistance and ongoing support to the families of fallen and catastrophically injured first responders, including police officers, firefighters, EMS, and public safety personnel.

When a hero makes the ultimate sacrifice, BackStoppers steps in to relieve the burden of debt, education costs, and daily expenses, ensuring that the families left behind are never forgotten or alone.

Our donation of original artwork to the Warren County Back Stoppers auction was our way of saying thank you to the brave men and women who protect our communities every single day, and to the families who continue to live with the cost of their courage.

Tribute to Veterans Memorial

The Tribute to Veterans Memorial in Warrenton, Missouri, stands as a living testament to service, sacrifice, and remembrance. This lastingmemorial is dedicated to those from Warren County Missouri who made theultimate sacrifice on the field of battle for this great Nation.

This memorial will consist of a monument wall of Missouri Red Granite eighteen feet long, six feet high and one foot thick. The front will have a black granite inlay with twelve-inch cast bronze lettering “Some Gave All”. On the back we currently have seventy-two (72) names of Warren County, Missouri Veterans who paid the supreme sacrifice listed by conflict and branch of service.

Bronze statue of a Battlefield Cross with the Gold Star Mother and Child will be facing both the battlefield memorial and the granite memorial wall. Flags representing the Army, Marines, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard and Merchant Marines will adorn the outer perimeter of the monument with the American Flag & POW Flags at the center. Monument, statues and each flag will be illuminated, making them visible 24 hours a day.

Overwatch donated an original painting to help raise funds for the memorial’s upkeep and expansion. Supporting this project was deeply personal for us; it’s a reminder that freedom is never free, and that each generation owes a debt of gratitude to those who stood watch before us.

Honoring Heroes Through Art

We’ve also made it a tradition to gift paintings directly to veterans as a small gesture of appreciation. Each piece tells a story of courage, resilience, and gratitude.

The first was gifted to Craig Greer, best known as country music artist Craig Morgan, a man whose faith, patriotism, and continued service represent the best of America.

From Operation Just Cause in Panama to Operation Desert Storm in Iraq, Craig’s military career spans more than a decade of active duty, serving in the 82nd and 101st Airborne Divisions. Afteryears in the Army Reserve, Craig re-enlisted in 2023, now serving as a Warrant Officer 1 with the313th Army Band at Redstone Arsenal. His dedication, both in uniform and through his music, continues to inspire service members and civilians alike.

The second painting was presented to Craig Dudley Wideman, a Combat Medic with the 1st Battalion, 505th Parachute Infantry Regiment of the 82nd Airborne Division, and brother of our founder. He saw a lot of action in the Gulf War and numerous other deployments. His courage and selflessness remain at the heart of our mission.
